Norscot Takes On MAN In Aberdeen

The move sees Norscot Truck & Van assume full responsibility for the former wholly-owned MAN service location at Minto Road on the Altens Industrial Estate in the south of Aberdeen. The company also takes on all the employees at the location into its new set-up. Gordon Harper has moved from Norscot’s Dundee and Perth Sites to take up the role as General Manager and Hamish Barrack, younger brother of managing director, George, takes on the role as workshop manager at the new Norscot MAN centre.

George Barrack, managing director of Norscot Truck & Van, said, “Our existing customers across the region know us already for our involvement with quality products, so the decision to take on local MAN service and parts operations was an easy one for us to make. With our current DAF location on the north side of Aberdeen, the fact that our new location is on the southern side of the city gives us a tremendous operating spread, which will be a real bonus to all our customers.

From a company point of view we see our expansion into the MAN network as giving us greater balance in the market. We are committed to providing the highest standards of support for truck and van operators alike, maximising availability and vehicle uptime and investing in continuous technical training including apprenticeships. We can now bring these qualities to MAN and ERF operators in the area.
